This week, Chuck Marohn has been in Texas, speaking in several towns including San MarcosAustinArlington and Fort Worth. His public presentation at the Austin City Council Chambers was hosted by the City of Austin Planning & Zoning Department and was video recorded on Wednesday.

In it, Chuck Marohn explains how the suburban development pattern has promised our communities wealth, but in the end, has left us with economic challenges and mounting debt. He also discusses the relationship between transportation and household affordability, including the pitfalls of auto-oriented development, the transportation burden and how to build more economically productive and walkable neighborhoods.
