Many of our nation's public officials are of the belief that housing is going to recover, and in recovering, it is going to bring back the entire construction-fed extravaganza that made their budgets look good and their jobs much easier. This belief is not based on any facts or even a basic understanding of the housing and construction markets, but a gut intuition that, "it just has to recover."
