Announcing the Capital District Regional Gathering
Strong Towns is pleased to announce the next in our ongoing series of regional gatherings in the Capital District of New York.
The Capital District Regional Gathering will be an immersive exploration of the groundbreaking and internationally recognized Strong Towns approach to building financially strong, resilient, lovable, and livable communities for all residents—and show you how to apply that approach in the Capital District Region. Participants may also elect to take part in an exclusive half-day workshop designed to help attendees create an action plan to apply those ideas in their unique community.
Designed to convene local leaders at all levels of government, neighborhood activism, and the built environment professions, this is also a rare opportunity to connect with a dynamic and diverse group of Strong Citizens, and to learn alongside neighbors from rural and urban communities alike.
Continuing education credits available upon request.
Kickoff event: Wednesday evening, September 18th. The Gathering will kick off with a Strong America Tour event, which will be open to the larger public. Be one of the first to participate in the brand new “Strong America Presentation” featuring lessons and insights from Chuck Marohn’s book, Strong Towns: A Bottom-Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity.
Gathering: Thursday, September 19th (full day). Participants will take part in a full day of workshops, lectures and breakout sessions led by local, regional, and national practitioners who know what it takes to make their towns stronger.
Workshop: Friday, September 20th (half day). An in-depth half-day workshop for registrants who are currently working on a specific project in their community and want to create an action plan to move their idea from inspiration to implementation, or from initial implementation to a broader community scale. Space in this workshop is highly limited. Early bird registration is recommended.
The Strong Towns Capital District Regional Gathering will be held in Troy, NY. Conference location to be announced.
Who should attend?
Local government leaders, built environment professionals, neighborhood activists, Strong Towns advocates, and anyone who cares about the financial future of the Capital district and wants to see it thrive. You do not need to be a current resident of the Capital District to attend.
