Chuck Marohn will give the keynote address on Transportation in the Next American City at the La Crosse Mayor's Neighborhood Conference.
Location: Myrick Center 2702 Quarry Road, La Crosse WI
Overview: For six decades, local governments have been accustomed to building new transportation infrastructure, much of it funded by state and federal revenues. Now cities have all of these lane miles, all this liability, and transportation funding has not kept up. While there is a scramble for more money, the reality is that our cities have assumed more obligations than their tax bases can sustain. We don’t need more money as desperately as we need a new approach to building local transportation systems.
