John Reuter will be presenting at a Zoom meeting hosted by The Park County Environmental Council (PCEC) of Livingston, Montana as a part of their Community Conversation series.
Reuter, who has spent his life working and living in the West, will talk about why so many American cities have found themselves in decline after decades of “growth.” He will explain the problem found in old-school planning, which values short-term gains over long-term prosperity. To strengthen our cities and ensure their economic success, Reuter believes we must look to traditional ways of building cities.
Sound familiar? PCEC supports planning neighborhoods that include a variety of uses and mixed housing options that are within walking distance to schools, parks and stores. We support infill and redevelopment opportunities over costly sprawl.
Resiliency is a topic of discussion in communities across the country. We believe Livingston’s growth policy should help our city become more resilient - regardless of the challenges that lie ahead. We look forward to learning more from John on how to make our growth policy the best it can be.
