Eutopia Workshop: The Next City (Webinar)

What will the urban landscape look like in the post-quarantine future?

EUTOPIA WORKSHOP: THE NEXT CITY
A Live Presentation by Charles Marohn and Russell Arben Fox
Presented by Solidarity Hall

May 5, 12 p.m. CDT

We see a dreamlike scene in the empty streets and buildings of our downtown, with areas suddenly transformed into public spaces with no public in sight. Pollution has diminished greatly everywhere and we are free—at least temporarily—to radically reimagine our built environment.

In this live 90-minute Zoom video session, Solidarity Hall has asked Strong Towns president Chuck Marohn to offer his vision of what is coming for our cities and towns—what our urban landscape will look like in the near future.

As background for this event, Chuck has recommended the following reading:

·       “This is the End of the Suburban Experiment”

Responding to Chuck’s comments will be Russell Arben Fox, professor of political science at Friends University, contributor to Solidarity Hall, and long-time member of Strong Towns. Other contributors will also comment, along with attendees via the Chat feature.

The workshop will be recorded and available on Solidarity Hall’s YouTube channel.

P.S. Are you a local government official, city staff, a member of your city’s planning or transportation committees, or a member of a local advocacy organization? We encourage you to invite members of your team to this webinar, then work together to take collective action toward building a safer, stronger, more financially resilient community.
