Joshua McCarty
The late 2000’s financial crisis laid bare the frailties of the American suburban experiment and gave birth to the Strong Towns movement. Meanwhile in Asheville, Joshua McCarty, along with partner in crime Joe Minicozzi, were experimenting with taxation, maps, and development. What they discovered is that our communities have no map of their revenue and thus no way to make wise financial choices. Years later, Joshua returned from UNC to continue this collaboration at Urban3. His mission is to uncover the subtle, yet profound, influences of taxation and policy that continue to fuel our growth towards disaster.
