Building Back Better for a Resilient and Sustainable Future

Wednesday, April 21 at 4:30pm Eastern

In order to "Build Back Better," local leaders need to focus on using federal funding opportunities to "build back differently." Commissioner Michele Martinez moderates this panel discussion with Urban3's Joe Minicozzi and Charles Marohn of Strong Towns.

Over the next several months, millions in federal funding will find its way to communities across the United States. It's up to municipal government officials to reject the status quo of "big, shiny, and new" projects to ensure this resource is invested to build a resilient, fiscally sustainable future.

The panel will discuss:

  • What does it mean to build back better cities from a Strong Towns Approach?

  • What does it mean to build back better cities for a resilient and sustainable financial future?

  • What should recovery look like for cities today?

This event is designed for elected civic leaders, although anyone with an interest in building strong communities is welcome at this 1-hour zoom event.
