Thursday update

Two quick things on our off-day here at the Strong Towns Blog. First, a thank you to Scott Hall and Maggie Montgomery of KAXE for inviting me to talk about Strong Towns and our vulnerable cities report on the air yesterday. We've been able to download most of the audio and put it in this week's podcast, so check it out. Great callers prove that KAXE has an intelligent audience and that this topic resonates with people.

Second, as a follow up to yesterday's posting on the incentives of the engineering profession, I wanted to give a reference to an article we posted last year after the American Society of Civil Engineers sent me a solicitation. The piece, called "Shame on you, engineers", touched on similar ground as yesterday but in a different way. It is worth looking at if you want to understand how difficult it is to reform large systems with many entrenched interests.

News Digest tomorrow.
