I created Plan Together to help everyone get involved with city planning. My hope is that this platform will empower citizens to take part in shaping the world around them.

- David Gorski, Founder at Plan Together Community Map Platform

As public health policies have forced most of us to quarantine, suddenly, we’re more observant of our neighborhoods than ever before. We’re more appreciative of the good, like generous neighbors and short walks to essential services. However, we’re also noticing where it struggles—and how those struggles affect our neighborhoods’ quality of life.

We’ve always had ideas to address these struggles—a crosswalk here, a park there—yet, through traditional channels of public engagement, we’ve struggled to share those ideas with neighbors and elected officials alike.

Inspired by these observations, Strong Towns advocate David Gorski created Plan Together: an online, collaborative mapping tool that allows you to “pin” your ideas on a map of your neighborhood. This new tool will give you a renewed sense of confidence in your observations. And, most important, will inspire your neighbors to share their own community-boosting ideas, as well.

In this episode, David shares the inspiration behind Plan Together and how you can use it today to make your community stronger.
