Protected Bike Lanes in Burlington

Here's a great example of testing out a solution for busy streets at relatively low cost, with phenomenal results. In the following video, you'll see the temporary creation of protected bike lanes in Burlington, VT. The project was up for two days in September, and in that time, tons of bikers—young and old—got to enjoy a safe, smooth ride through their town while at the same time, decreasing car speeds.

This pop-up demonstration project was implemented by the Department of Public Works, Local Motion, and the PlanBTV Walk Bike team, with the help of many volunteers.  Visit PlanBTV to learn more.
