This year's Strongest Town Contest has been a blast. We've heard from towns with beautiful waterfronts, active Main Streets, exciting local businesses and so much more — all of them working to become economically productive and ensure prosperous futures for their residents. In our second round, we looked at photos from our eight remaining towns to get a feel for what they're doing well and what they're all about. The votes are now in and we're pleased to say that four towns will move onto the next round next week.
Some of the races this round were extremely close. Here's how the voting broke down:
- Pensacola, FL (63%) vs. Twin Falls, ID (37%)
- Kent, OH (71%) vs. Niagara Falls, NY (29%)
- Muskegon, MI (51.2%) vs. Greenville, SC (48.8%)
- Annapolis, MD (50.4%) vs. Morelia, Mexico (49.6%)
Congratulations to the four towns advancing to the next round and thank you to everyone who has participated so far! Check back in with us next week on Tuesday (March 20) to hear podcasts from the four remaining towns and to vote in the next match-ups.
