Can a struggling city save itself? Is revitalization really possible? Marion, Ohio, proves that it is. Join us on September 19 for the live premiere of “This Dying Rust Belt Town Quietly Saved Itself.” Filmed on site in Marion, this new video shows how a community can thrive after hardship by making housing and economic pursuits easier. The live discussion afterward will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how our videos are made, practical insights into what it takes to be a strong town — and pointers for applying to the contest yourself.

The video will premiere on YouTube at 11 a.m. CDT. Immediately after the premiere, join us on Zoom for a live, member-exclusive conversation with Rachel Leonardo, Strong Towns’ video creator, and James Walker, the Marion Regional Planning Commission staffer who nominated Marion for the Strongest Town Contest and helped shepherd the winning entry.
