Parking reform is gaining momentum. Cities across the country are realizing that mandatory parking requirements come with big costs and few real benefits. They drive up housing and construction costs, limit the kinds of homes we can build, spread out our neighborhoods, and burden local governments with infrastructure that never pays for itself.
That’s why a coalition of Delaware organizations is coming together to talk about the opportunities of parking reform. And you're invited.
Join Strong Towns' Norm van Eeden Petersman on Tuesday, October 7 (via Zoom) for a conversation about how rethinking parking requirements can open the door to more affordable housing, stronger neighborhoods, and financially resilient communities. Norm will be joined by Daniel Herriges, the Policy Director for the Parking Reform Network; David Culver, New Castle County's Department of Land Use General Manager; and Dee Durham, the current seat of New Castle County's District 2.
