“Big developers have to chase economies of scale, and that’s fragile, because it depends upon a huge workflow coming through that area. A small developer is completely constrained by economy of means... So I need to work at a scale that makes sense, and cultivate the other people I need to partner with. If I get too big too fast, everything’s at risk.”
